2011 Herreshoff Classic Regatta Cancelled
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Herreshoff Classic Regatta scheduled for 26-28 August was cancelled due to Hurricane Irene.
The 2012 Herreshoff Classic Regatta is scheduled for 24-26 August, and we look forward to the return of classic yachts to the Museum.
The Museum will refund your Regatta payment by written request, or we would be delighted to convert your payment to a tax deductible donation to the Museum. Please let us know in writing or by email to acct.dept@herreshoff.org.

The Herreshoff Classic Regatta is an annual event drawing hundreds of participants from around the world. Classic and Herreshoff boat owners gather for a weekend of challenging races and social events. The weekend includes the race for the prestigious Bill Swan Memorial Trophy, the Livingston’s Wind Hill Trophy for Herreshoff 12 1/2s, and a traditional New England Clamboil on the waterfront.
Racing Classes include:
Classic (pre-1970)
Spirit of Tradition (1970 and later)
S Class
12 1/2 (wood or fiberglass including CCSB H12, Bullseye, and Doughdish)
Six Metre
Twelve Metre
Sea Sprite 23
Cat Boat
The 2010 event saw over 75 classic and spirit of tradition vessels on the starting line, overseen by the 1901 126' steam yacht CANGARDA serving as committee boat.
