Our mission is to educate and inspire the public through presentations of the history and innovative work of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company and the America’s Cup competition.

The Museum exhibits Herreshoff yachts, models, historic photographs, steam engines, and artifacts related to America’s greatest naval architect and builder during "The Golden Age of Yachting".

The America’s Cup Hall of Fame is located on the grounds of the former Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, where yachts were built for eight consecutive America’s Cup defenes between 1893 and 1934. Its collection includes plaques and photographs honoring the inductees; half-hull models of challengers and defenders; artifacts including spars, steering wheels, and tank test model hulls; and special exhibits about the Cup.

INDIVIDUAL membership ($35) includes free admission to the Museum and (by appointment) the Rebecca Chase Herreshoff Library, free admission to the Museum Lecture Series, a 10% discount on Museum store purchases, and invitations to special events and activities.

FAMILY membership ($50) provides the benefits of individual membership for two adults at the same address and up to four of their children or grandchildren.

VIGILANT membership ($100) provides the benefits of individual membership along with reciprocal privileges to more than 80 other maritime museums, as well as discounted dockage and mooring rates at the Museum's waterfront.

COLUMBIA membership ($250) provides VIGILANT membership benefits with the addition of a one-time welcome gift of a limited edition COLUMBIA print.

DEFENDER membership ($500) provides COLUMBIA membership benefits with the addition of a one-time welcome gift of a Herreshoff burgee.

RESOLUTE membership ($1000) provides DEFENDER membership benefits plus eight guest passes per year and recognition in Museum publications, as well as a one-time welcome gift of Herreshoff of Bristol.

RELIANCE SOCIETY membership is a ten-year commitment that provides the benefits of VIGILANT membership, along with a beautiful mounted RELIANCE half-hull model, invitations to special Society events, and 50 free feet of dockage or three free nights on a mooring per season.

GLORIANA SOCIETY membership is a five-year commitment that provides the benefits of VIGILANT membership, invitations to special Society events, along with a custom-made replica of a Herreshoff anchor with display base, and 50 free feet of dockage or three free nights on a mooring per season.  GLORIANA members are also entitled to one use of the waterfront tent per season; some restrictions apply.
